Mission & Philosophy

MISSION

To provide children with a supportive atmosphere and opportunities for success in order that they may develop self-confidence and a love of learning.

PHILOSOPHY

By teaching a challenging and engaging curriculum and instilling good work habits, we guide our students to cultivate their intelligence and develop their interests, abilities and talents. We model and nurture intellectual curiosity, creativity, enthusiasm and persistence with the goal of supporting lifelong learning. Since knowledge without values is an empty pursuit, we strive to encourage such traits as empathy, honesty, fairness, kindness, responsibility and self-discipline.

By ensuring that everyone in our community feels connected and cared for, the school strives to develop an equitable and just environment that respects a diversity of groups, family structures, and perspectives so that our children feel known, valued, and empowered to develop their own authentic identities. We encourage parents to be actively involved in the life of the school as we work towards these goals.

This respect for each other extends to our planet and teaching students the value of environmental sustainability. We believe that an understanding of our world will determine how lightly we live on this planet.

At Forsyth School, each student finds joy in learning and belonging. Our ultimate objective is to provide our students with an exceptional academic foundation and healthy sense of balance so that they can face the challenges of the future as thoughtful and responsible citizens.
