Unplugged and unstructured–true summer words. Last summer at Forsyth Summer Discovery, we did our part to sustain childhood, to give kids time to breathe, to have fun, to be kids, to play.
This is a place where kids can try new things, stretch their imaginations, explore, invent, play hard or just play. Last summer, they climbed, rode bikes, played every sport. They spun ghost stories by flashlight in tents, they made snowmen in July, they made a film, they explored the world around them. They built things: catapults, bridges, dioramas, Lego constructions, rockets, recycled art, and more. They sang, told jokes, danced, entertained each other with kid performances. They soaked up simple summer pleasures: popsicles, careening down the slip & slide, pick-up soccer games, lunch outside in the backyard with friends and counselors. They got a taste of an old-fashioned summer.
We have a great camp season in store for 2018 campers. Take a look. Summer begins here!
FORSYTH SUMMER DISCOVERY 2018
This summer, from June 11 – August 10, there are nearly four dozen camps, developed by the Forsyth School faculty, offered for children entering Pre-Kindergarten (age 3) - Grade 6. Kids love to stay for Pizza & Movie Night Thursdays. Fun Lunch Fridays are still part of every week’s camp.

New & Noteworthy. Of course, the high ropes course will be busy. Sleepover Camp will be great fun. Great art camps. Basketball, baseball and soccer! What’s new? Our vote for originality goes to Forsyth Survivor. Think puzzles, obstacle courses and gross food. There are lots more new camps for all ages, including great pre-primary camps like Pirates & Princesses. How about Tourist in your own Tour? Study maps, plot routes and create the group itinerary. Or The Wonder Down Under…spend a week touring New Zealand with our own Kiwi, Mrs. Militello. How about STEAM? Students will question like a Scientist, design like a Technologist, build like an Engineer, create like an Artist, deduce like a Mathematician and, most importantly, play like a kid in 2 STEAM camps offered the last 2 weeks. So many great camps!
One-of-a-Kind Campus in a One-of-a-Kind Neighborhood. What’s unique about Forsyth School is that the backyards of our six houses form the playgrounds. So, it's an old-fashioned summer experience–hanging out in the backyard with friends. The Forsyth Adventure Center with a climbing wall and a one-of-a-kind high ropes course is a great resource for campers, and an integral part of the Summer Discovery program offerings. Our proximity to Forest Park extends summer possibilities for cycling, visiting all the resources the Park has to offer, and more.
