WELCOME TO FORSYTH!
Hi there. We’re delighted you are here. Start with the little film above. It’s a compilation of Forsyth graduates’ perspective on their school.
Do you know Forsyth School? Founded in 1961, Forsyth is a leading independent elementary school for 370 children age 3-Grade 6. Located across the street from Washington University and next door to Forest Park, Forsyth has an unforgettable campus with classrooms in 6 repurposed, historic houses. Adaptive reuse at its best.
Forsyth is all about challenge–always with support from great teachers and classmates–and independence. It’s a place where personal best counts–on the field, on the stage, in the classroom, and on the high ropes course in the Forsyth Adventure Center. It’s a place to stretch beyond your comfort zone–memory mapping, Shakespeare plays, Challenge Days. Forsyth teachers value active learning and authentic challenges. Here, children develop critical thinking skills; they learn that if they work hard, they can accomplish difficult and complex projects. Forsyth graduates are well prepared for the most selective secondary schools.
We’re parents, too. It’s hard to see that 3-, 5-, or 8-year old as an adult, but that’s what we think about here. We start with end goals, outcomes. Think about it. In 30 years, what will that beautiful child of yours need in order to thrive in the world? We can’t predict the future, but likely it will be a complex, global reality, filled with challenge.
That’s where Forsyth comes in.
Those little ones, just like yours, come to us holding a parent’s hand, and leave here as young people who know how to work hard, think critically and tackle challenge. They are tenacious. They are thoughtful, kind and responsible. They are independent, creative and articulate. They have the mindset, confidence and academic foundation to thrive in secondary school and beyond.
Isn’t that what we all hope for as parents? That’s what makes the investment in a Forsyth education worthwhile.
After your virtual visit, come to Forsyth. Let’s talk about your child, your hopes and dreams. We look forward to meeting you.
