What's your greatest talent?

I’m not sure if this is a talent but I have really good luck. I have won cash in 2 different 50/50 raffles, Dierbergs Groceries for a Year and, last week, an Amazon Echo Dot, which is still in the package! My name was also drawn for the lottery in 2004 to see the original cast of Wicked on Broadway (Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth) in the front row for only $20. Oh, and that one time I got to go backstage at a little Broadway show called Hamilton to meet the original cast, creator Lin-Manual Miranda and, randomly, Mark Zuckerberg. That was some serious good luck.

Would you rather be able to stop time or fly?

Stop time! Our youngest, Conrad, is 10 months old and he’s just about to start walking…and running shortly thereafter. His sisters, Alice in Grade 4 and Sally in Jr-K, have no idea what they are in for once he can get into their rooms all by himself.

What do you love about Forsyth?

I love being able to go to school with my girls. It is a gift to be able to see behind the scenes the amazing work our faculty and staff do to teach and support our children, the friendships and relationships that build between students across grade levels and the positive energy that comes from working in an elementary school. I have also had the pleasure of meeting and working with the most generous parents and community members that I have ever known. It amazes me every year how much time and treasure our parents contribute to our school to make it a special place. I am very grateful to be a member of this community.

What is something that is popular now that annoys you?

Cell phones!!! I sometimes wish they were never invented. In some ways, communication was more thoughtful and personal before the cell phone was invented.

What 3 words best describe you?

Protective, Caring and Silly

What do you love about Forsyth?

I love Forsyth for many reasons. I love the community of teachers, staff and parents. I love that my children are getting a well rounded education from teachers that are truly dedicated and give of themselves each and everyday.

What are your three favorite movies?

1) "What About Bob" - A mindless comedy. I just laugh and laugh and laugh at this one no matter how many times I watch it. 2) "The Martian" - I love the "everyone around the world coming together for a common good" - theme about it. 3) "The Kingsman" - I really don't know why I like this one so much! It has to be the far from reality fight scenes because it can't be the depth of the plot…ha ha!

What do I look most forward to about summer break?

I love the extra time with my family at home and my Forsyth Summer Discovery Camp family.  This summer, I am most excited that our youngest son Christian will be home from college. My quiet house will not seem so empty!

What do you love about Forsyth?

I love walking in the door every day because of both the kids and my fellow teachers. We are really one big family. I like to think that we have each others’ backs and that we can grow and learn from each other. Overall, I think that being a teacher is an honor. I know that the time I spend with the children is important - they are our future. I feel that a job well-done is helping children to become good citizens and to be able play and learn in their own skin. My dad was an art teacher of both children and adults. He was an amazing person and he is my inspiration.

Seana Beard | Development Coordinator

Do you believe in magic?

I believe in the Magic 8 Ball. I try to not make any big decision without consulting it first.

What 3 famous people, living or dead, would you want at your fantasy dinner party?

Walt Disney, Tom Hanks (because he has played Walt Disney), and Laura Ingalls Wilder.

What do you love about Forsyth?

Forsyth is FAMILY – so supportive, loving, and fun. I love watching the kids here grow in such a nurturing (yet challenging) environment.

Beckii Pittman | Grade 4 Down

Do you believe in ghosts?  How about aliens?

Actually, I believe in both ghosts and aliens. Our universe is too vast and amazing for humans to be the only life form.  As for ghosts, I know I feel my mother's spirit often.  We do not talk, but I sense her presence and smell her Mary Kay night cream!

What do you do to get rid of stress?

To get rid of stress, I lose myself in a good book.

What do you love about Forsyth?

What's NOT to love?? I adore my teaching partner, our 4th grade team, and the rest of the talented and dedicated faculty and staff. I love the students, of course.  Every year I am the lucky teacher that gets the best class ever. I also love the fact that there is learning taking place in all of Forsyth's nooks and crannies. Forsyth is simply a magical place.
