SUMMER BEGINS HERE!

At a time when the media focuses on overly-scheduled children who have no down time, no time to make their own decisions about what they’d like to do, Forsyth Summer Discovery campers reclaimed their childhood.

Last summer, they played cards, played in the hose and sprinkler, slid down the slip & slide over and over–even in the rain, spent the night at Forsyth, saw fireflies (some of them for the first time), ate snow cones, ate lunch outside, connected with other kids, counselors and grown-ups, and experienced a real neighborhood right here in our own backyard. They unplugged. They tried something new or returned for favorites: they made iMovies, rode their bikes, climbed higher, blasted off rockets, built Lego creations, made art, made science glop, hosted a proper party, played sports like crazy, got in touch with nature, used their imaginations, staged a talent show, and so much more.

We have a great camp season in store for 2016 campers. Take a look. Summer begins here!

FORSYTH SUMMER DISCOVERY 2016

This summer, from June 13 – August 12, there are nearly four dozen camps, developed by the Forsyth School faculty, offered for children entering Pre-Kindergarten (age 3) - Grade 6. NEW in 2016! Pizza & Movie Night Thursdays. Fun Lunch Fridays, are still part of every week’s camp.

New & Noteworthy. Of course, the high ropes course will be busy. Sleepover Camp will be great fun. Talent scouts will no doubt line up for the annual Summer Discovery’s Got Talent show. Great new art camps. Sports, sports, and more sports! But how about this? Our 2015 Nicholas Aaron Aitken Artist-in-Residence Carrie Becker will lead Diorama Digs. Nature Revealed will open up the natural world for pre-primary campers. Little Veterinarian School and Little Sports Medicine School camps fit the bill for budding DVMs and MDs. Two new S.T.E.A.M. camps for older kids will debut. And so much more!

One-of-a-Kind Campus. What’s unique about Forsyth School is that the backyards of our six houses form the playgrounds. So, it's an old-fashioned summer experience–hanging out in the backyard with friends. The Forsyth Adventure Center with a climbing wall and a one-of-a-kind high ropes course is a great resource for campers, and an integral part of the Summer Discovery program offerings.  Our proximity to Forest Park extends summer possibilities for cycling, visiting all the resources the Park has to offer, and more.
