Our One-of-a-Kind Campus is Even Better!
Since the fall of 2004, Forsyth School has completed nearly $5 million of campus improvements including a 9,100 s.f. Visual & Performing Arts Center, a new FieldTurfTM field and track, a dedicated outdoor classroom, the Forsyth Adventure Center, new playgrounds and numerous other facilities enhancements. The Forsyth Adventure Center, completed in the fall of 2006, features a climbing wall, a ceiling-mounted ropes course with platforms, and the high beam. A comprehensive central campus renovation was completed in the summer of 2007; the project encompasses innovative new playgrounds -- both pre-primary and elementary -- that span most of Forsyth’s interior campus.
Falcon Field: A professional-grade artificial turf field with surrounding track debuted at the start of the 2004/05 school year. The field, which adjoins the outdoor sport court, provides a state-of-the-art space for year-round play, physical education and after-school sports practice. With 85% of Forsyth’s students participating in after-school league sports, Falcon Field is an integral part of the campus configuration.
The Williams Walled Garden: This faculty-designed, dedicated outdoor classroom was made possible through the generosity of Susan and Felix Williams III. Whether for studio art, drama, outdoor education, or other classes, Forsyth students benefit from this new outdoor learning space that is walled in for privacy.
Visual & Performing Arts Center: Forsyth’s Visual & Performing Arts Center provides art, drama and music classrooms on the first floor, classroom space on the second floor, and an expanded lunchroom on the lower level. This 9,100 sq. ft. building was completed in spring of 2005, increasing classroom space dramatically. An architectural hallmark of the Arts Center is the Jeffrey M. Clinton Memorial Clock Tower which has become a signature identifier on the Forsyth quadrangle. The clock tower is dedicated in loving memory of Jeffrey M. Clinton by his father, Mr. Jerry Clinton.
Forsyth Adventure Center: Completed in the fall of 2006, the Adventure Center, supports Forsyth’s challenge education program for children in Grades 1-6. In a safe environment, with support from their classmates and teachers, children learn to stretch beyond their comfort zone, setting their own challenges and reflecting on their accomplishments. The high beam, mounted 30 feet above the ground, is a rite of passage reserved for Forsyth sixth graders, who ascend the beam and cross it. A climbing wall and a high ropes course complete the Adventure Center.
Center of Campus & New Playgrounds: The newly completed center of campus project incorporates pre-primary and elementary playgrounds, built to honor retired Head Rebecca Glenn, Ph.D, who led Forsyth School from 1986-2007. The playgrounds are at the heart of the campus, surrounded by Forsyth’s five historic houses.
